ProgressSoft Accelerates Connectivity to Algeria’s National Instant Switch

ProgressSoft is thrilled to further enhance instant payments in Algeria by enabling financial institutions to connect to the newly launched national switch at SATIM through its Mobile Payments Platform. Building on the successful implementation of its Interoperable Instant Payments System at SATIM, this advancement facilitates seamless, real-time transactions across the country.

With the national switch now in place, Algerian financial institutions connected to SATIM can offer a comprehensive suite of instant payment services, providing speed, reliability, and innovation to their customers. Gulf Bank Algérie (AGB) is now one of the first to leverage this capability, connecting to the national switch through ProgressSoft’s Mobile Payments Platform.

The new connection enables AGB to provide a comprehensive range of payment services including person-to-person, person-to-business and business-to-person transactions where customers can conduct payments seamlessly via scanning QR codes or initiating transfers to aliases and account numbers. It also allows instant top-ups from bank accounts to mobile payment accounts, in addition to direct bank account transfers, ensuring faster and more efficient payment experience, all through a modern, user-friendly mobile application.

One of the Mobile Payments Platform’s standout features is its seamless integration with the bank’s core banking system, enabling effortless onboarding of new customers. To further enhance convenience for both customers and merchants, customers are provided with “Request to Pay” facilities, enabling them to request transfers from other customers. Meanwhile, merchants can manage refunds and track all historical transactions, ensuring greater transparency, speed and efficiency across all types of payment activities.

By connecting AGB’s services with the national infrastructure, ProgressSoft plays a key role in enhancing Algeria’s payment accessibility and promoting financial inclusion.
